From 27 June to 31 August the Parco archeologico del Colosseo will ensure emergency medical services are available to citizens and tourists alike thanks to the Associazione Europea Volontari di Prevenzione e Protezione Civile di Roma.
Not only do we have a heart-safe Parco thanks to the defibrillators positioned throughout the entire area last year — said Alfonsina Russo, Director of the Parco archeologico del Colosseo — but also a first aid area, bolstered by two ambulances with fully qualified personnel that will operate throughout the entire archaeological area. On their first day of service — concluded Alfonsina Russo — they already provided assistance to ten people suffering from the effects of the extreme heat.
The service will be available in Piazza del Colosseo (on the Arch of Constantine side) from 9:00 to 19:00 seven days a week.
To offer some refreshment and a bit of relief from the summer heat, drinking fountains are now available within the Parco and in the coming days a misting system will be installed around the ticket booths and at the main entry points into the Colosseum.
