Temporary closure of museums and exhibitions from 6 November to 3 December 2020

5 November 2020

ATTENTION: in accordance with the new provisions announced by the Prime Minister on the evening of 4 November 2020, the nationwide closure of all museums will go into effect on Friday, 6 November 2020.

As reported in the Official Gazette of the Italian Republic, the new Prime Ministerial Decree in force from 5 November 2020 to 3 December 2020 imposes the temporary closure of all cultural sites and the suspension of all scheduled exhibitions.

The Parco archeologico del Colosseo must thereby temporarily close its 4 sites, the Roman Forum, Palatine, Colosseum and Domus Aurea and suspend all activities related to the show “Pompei 79 d.C. Una storia romana”, the inauguration for which was scheduled for 5 November.

The Parco archeologico del Colosseo’s ‘fifth site’, that is our website and all of the digital content available across our official social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube) will stay open and active, continuing to converse, interact and build relationships with the public.
