Fashion in its countless forms is the protagonist of Ephimera. Dialoghi sulla moda, a series of ten conferences dedicated to the various aspects of contemporary fashion, in which some of the most renowned creative directors, artists, writers, scholars and journalists of the field will take turns discussing the topic. The talks — held on Saturday mornings from 26 October 2019 to 21 March 2020 – will all take place in the monumental Curia Iulia in the Roman Forum.

The project — promoted by the Parco archeologico del Colosseo — confirms the age-old vocation of the Curia Iulia, location of the ancient Roman senate, as a living cultural space designed for debate and discussion. These conferences represent yet another occasion to reinforce the city’s bond with its central archaeological area, reaffirming a strategy that the PArCo pursues consistently. Conceived with this spirit in mind, the conferences are all free of charge subject to availability.

The projectcurated by Sofia Gnoli, fashion historian, professor and journalist, organized and promoted by Electa — presents an interpretation of fashion as a set of codes that display and communicate tastes and trends, in a debate between individuality (the expression of the self) and conformity (the adherence to collective trends), but also as a language of symbols, as artistic expression, without neglecting such classic topics as androgyny or dandyism and its links with cinema, literature and photography.
