Fascinating evening visits to the underground levels, galleries and inner arcades of the Colosseum are the theme of The Moon over the Colosseum.

The tour starts from the arena, where we can see into the depths of the underground levels, the cavities of the galleries and the succession of inner arches of the Colosseum. Here we listen to stories of the spectacles, the duels between gladiators and the wild beast hunts that were held in the arena, as well as the history and architecture of the monument. Our visit continues to the underground levels, revealing the places where gladiators and wild beasts waited before appearing in combats before the public. Finally we listen to an explanation of the functioning of the technical apparatus that enabled men and animals to be raised from the underground levels to the arena.

The visit ends with stunning view of the Arch of Constantine and the colonnade of the Temple of Venus and Rome from the second tier of the monument.
