To mark the recent restauration of the fresco depicting an ideal view of the city of Jerusalem, visible in the Flavian Amphitheater on the rear arch of the Porta Triumphalis, facing the Roman Forum, the Colosseum is hosting a lectio magistralis by His Eminence Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi.

The fresco, painted in the 17th century, is traditionally dated to the pontificate of Clement X (1670-1676) in occasion of the renovations made for the celebrations of the 1675 Jubilee.

The lectio magistralis, entitled “Le tre pietre sacre di Gerusalemme” (“The three holy stones of Jerusalem”), will be available on the PArCo’s social media platforms starting on Friday, 23 October 2020.
