Restoration Office

The Restoration Office provides support for the conservation, maintenance and restoration of the mobile works and the cladding and decorated surfaces, in the various phases of implementation of the interventions, subject to agreement with the Archaeological Officers for the Sector. In particular, it conducts periodic surveys to verify of the state of conservation of the artefacts, as well as drafting a risk report, in agreement with the officials responsible for the projects; it prepares and drafts the computerised archive of artefacts; conducts emergency operations and/or extraordinary maintenance work; schedules maintenance work according to priority; provides assistance in setting up temporary exhibitions in Rome and outside Rome; drafts orders for conservation and handling and the Condition Reports; provides assistance in packaging, handling and exhibition of works; participates in restoration/maintenance projects, analysis of the work and calculation of the related costs.
