There are three Mondadori Electa bookshops located in the Colosseum, two on the first level and one on the second. Modern and functional, they respect the identity and structure of the monument and provide visitors with a wide range of publications on the subject of archaeology and the Colosseum in particular.
Given the large number of visitors from around the world, there are many titles in foreign languages, multimedia products and gadgets of all kinds. They range from the offer of specialist publications for scholars and enthusiasts to handy tourist guides for visitors who want to get an idea of the Colosseum and other archaeological monuments in the capital, children’s books, jewels reproducing ancient ones and gadgets designed for those who want to take home a souvenir of their visit.
Roman Forum and Palatine Hill
The two bookshops located at the entrance to the Central Archaeological Area offer specialist texts, children’s books, museum guides, exhibition catalogues, as well as a rich assortment of gadgets and jewels inspired by ancient Rome.
Opening times: the bookshops in the Parco archeologico del Colosseo close 30 minutes before the site.
The bookshop on the second level of the Colosseum closes 45 minutes before the monument.
