Each year the prize is awarded to the “best” archaeological discovery of the year.

This year the discovery of the Sphinx Room at the Domus Aurea is one of the five finalists in the running for the prize!!!

The top archaeological discovery will be chosen from among the five finalists and the award will be presented on Friday, 20 November at the Savoy Hotel Expo Center in Paestum.

But that’s not all: a “Special Award” will be given online to the discovery that receives the most online votes from the public through the BMTA Facebook page between June and September.
