The commitment of the Parco archeologico del Colosseo to the safety of citizens and visitors continues. In July and August 2022 a Medical Unit will be active on the square of the Colosseum.

The resumption of tourism is registering very high numbers of visitors at the Parco archeologico del Colosseo, visitors who, defying the great heat, crowd the Amphitheatre and the areas of the Forum and the Palatine.
In order to ensure a safe visit, the PArCo has increased the water supply points on the first level of the Amphitheatre, both in the area of the public entrance and along the visit route, and has activated for the third year in a row, with the cooperation of the European Organisation of Volunteers for Prevention and Civil Protection of Rome, a health care unit consisting of ambulances and a gazebo with first aid personnel where Covid-19 swabs can also be conducted.
The garrison will offer support and assistance until the end of August by positioning itself on the Colosseum square (Arch of Constantine side).

“We are extremely happy that visitors from all over the world have started travelling again, returning to visit and learn about the history of Rome and the Parco archeologico del Colosseo. The very high numbers we are recording increase the risk of health emergencies caused above all by fatigue due to the exceptional heat and drought that are affecting our Planet” – comments Alfonsina Russo, Director of the Parco archeologico del Colosseo. “We therefore strongly wanted, in addition to the strengthening of the cardioprotection systems that we recently presented in the Domus Aurea, also a prolonged medical unit on the Colosseum Square that will be at the disposal of citizens and tourists with ambulances ready to manage and support any criticality that may be encountered”.

The service is active from 1 July to 31 August from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm, seven days a week.
