When: 5 July – 30 August 2019, Fridays only, at the following times: 18:30 – 20:30 (5, 12, 19, and 26 July); 18:20 – 20:20 (2 and 9 August); 17:50 – 19:50 (16, 23 and 30 August).

Costs:

Full price €18. Reduced €16 (children aged 6-12, Grandi Clienti, people with disabilities, groups who book an entire tour paying for the maximum of 30 tickets in advance).

Every guest may purchase a maximum of two tours per night. Reservation fees are included in ticket prices. Prices will not vary if tickets are purchased on the same day of tour. Exchange voucher service available for Grandi Clienti.

Description:

A nearly kilometer-long walk through 1,500 years of Roman history. Starting on 5 July, the second edition of On the slopes of the Palatine: in the footsteps of Goethe returns to the Parco archeologico del Colosseo. Guests will walk amongst the imperial residences, from the House of Augustus to the Severan complex, with its grand arches that convey all the power of the Roman cityscape. The itinerary will also be of great naturalistic interest, thanks to the multitude of plant species that grew and grow in the area, described for tourists thanks to the new botanical panels placed along the path.

Strengthening the archaeological area’s function as an active center of culture and communication.

Helping guests develop observational and critical abilities.

Increasing public knowledge of and respect for our archaeological heritage as a collective resource.
